My book on happiness!

My first book is published and today is launch day! Yippee! 🤓📗🥳🧉

It's called 'Free Happiness: the art and science of positivity' and is available on Amazon... I explain a little bit about it in this video 🎥 It’s a conversational read, accessible to anyone who wants to learn why we humans are the way we are and how our minds and bodies react to the things that life hands to us - good, bad and everything in between. It’s intended to be an inspirational read, motivating you to be your best, no matter what else you have going in in your world at the time. My hope is that it resonates with you as a fellow human being, is life affirming and sets you off on a wonderful path to do great things for yourself and for others. I hope it helps to spread positivity around the world, in small or large ways, to help increase our global happiness index - that’s my dream!

I’m fortunate to have a wonderfully kind endorsement by Sir Richard Branson who said, "Thank you for this beautiful girl, who looks after everybody. We've all got to play our part in protecting the world, we need to work as one." He said this following my work with him, his teams and the communities in the British Virgin Islands after the tragic aftermath of hurricane Irma. I write about some of my experiences on the islands in my book. There are people around the world, who have such optimistic mindsets and resilience that leaves me awe-struck. We must learn from these and put practices in place to live our most full lives. There will always be hardship and we get one chance to do things in the best way.

As I put it on the back cover blurb, “You’ve been given one life to do all the things you’d like to do and be all the things you’d like to be. Go do and go be … happy.”

As for the process of writing my first book - I now appreciate why authors who self publish lock themselves away in order to finish their work. I understand why they often don’t have other jobs aside from being an author. It’s full time, full on, takes all your focus and energy. That felt like a mission, a mental marathon and it took me a heck of a lot longer than I anticipated to get through the editing, formatting and publishing phases. What a journey! I’m relieved, proud and exhausted now it’s finished. Much respect to all you authors out there who don’t have a huge team of people doing it all for you. I had no idea when I first started out, just how much energy, brain space and sheer determination it would take. Fortunately, I had a lot of fantastic friends and supportive family, which got me over all the mountains and picked me up when I stumbled. I am so very grateful for every single one. Thank you for all your support and cheering me along every step of the way. It was gruelling towards the end, a real uphill struggle, but you kept me going, nudging me along so that sweating and limping I finally made it over the finish line! Now then… who’s up for a holiday?! 😁🥳

Here’s a link to the book 📖 Please share the link with those you care about who may like to read it, or even buy a copy yourself if you fancy - it's all about spreading the happiness and making our world a better place for it 😃

I hope it brings you much happiness 🙏🏼
