Must we always live in the moment?

Controversial question. Must we always live in the moment?

We’re often told it's healthy to live in the moment and in general I agree - I was certainly completely immersed in watching these expert waddlers in South Africa! 🥰 🐧

However… do we always have to and are we missing something?

It helps to understand how the brain works and how going to positive past events can increase happiness... 🧠

Capturing a moment and recalling it later gives us a spike of the same happy hormone that it created in the first place. Not as intense as the real moment in time, but a natural boost.

These pocket sized African penguins made me smile and the memory does too 🌟💫

So live in the moment AND bring in those happies whenever you need them.

A little toolkit you have at your disposal whenever you need it. Always 🙏🏼

If you can't think of your own right now, there’s a video on my Instagram feed that is only 44 seconds long and it WILL* make you smile (*I can't guarantee this but I'm pretty confident it might just work) 😉 Check it out - African Penguins for Happiness! 🐧🥰
